A medium sized private company in Edinburgh
The Problem
The client needed help replacing a member of staff who had been off work for a long period of time due to illness.
Our Solution
This is a relatively common problem and had to be handled sensitively. The needs of the organisation needed to be accommodated whilst ensuring that the individual was treated fairly.
We offered advice on HR best practice to guarantee that the termination of employment complied with current Employment Law and procedures. We subsequently trained all managers to handle any future disciplinary and grievance procedures.
The Result
We worked closely with the client to take some of the stress out of the dismissal process. The managers now feel confident in dealing with similar issues and we continue to provide regular support through newsletter updates.
